On August 23, Nikki Haley, Governor of the State of South Carolina, used the Alucoil North America manufacturing plant as the backdrop for presenting Clarendon County, SC with the prestigious designation as a "Certified Work Ready Community", a program dedicated to strengthening economic development via improvement of workforce skill levels and professional readiness. The program targets younger adults by enabling them to gain the skills necessary to compete for jobs in the workforce, enlist in the military, or enroll in an institution of higher education.

Notably, Clarendon Country, where Alucoil North America is located, is the first county in South Carolina and only the second in the United States to be certified as a "Work Ready Community": During the visit the Managing Director of Alucoil North America described the manufacturing process for the Alucoil aluminum composite panels made at the facility and correlated “work readiness” with the corporate values of Alucoil’s parent company, Grupo Aliberico of: Respect, Work Ethic, Effort, Dedication, and Teamwork.

The state of South Carolina is a role model in its investment in such programs to develop and provide a highly skilled workforce that is globally competitive for companies already in South Carolina as well as those seeking to operate there- all while ensuring sustainable economic growth and employment opportunities for its citizens.
